Adding Titan Email to iPhone and Android

Business email is only useful if it reaches you. This article gets your Titan mailbox working on your phone, so customer emails arrive alongside everything else. The setup takes about five minutes per device. If you have not created your mailbox yet, start with Setting Up Titan Business Email in 10 Minutes.

What you need

Your full email address, your mailbox password, and the mail server settings from your Titan welcome email. Titan supports standard IMAP, which keeps your phone, computer, and webmail in sync. Read an email on your phone and it shows as read everywhere. Delete it on your computer and it disappears from your phone. Always choose IMAP, never POP, unless you have a specific reason.

iPhone: adding to Apple Mail

  1. Open Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account.
  2. Choose Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, your full Titan email address, your password, and a description like “Work.” Tap Next.
  4. Make sure IMAP is selected at the top.
  5. Fill in the incoming and outgoing mail server details from your Titan welcome email: the host names, your full email address as the username, and your password for both.
  6. Tap Next. The phone verifies the settings, which can take a minute. Tap Save.
  7. Open the Mail app. Your Titan mailbox appears in the mailbox list. Send yourself a test email to confirm.

iPhone: using the Titan or Gmail app instead

If you prefer a dedicated app, you can add your Titan account to most email apps the same way: choose to add an account manually, select IMAP, and enter the same server details. The steps vary slightly by app, but the settings themselves are identical.

Android: adding to Gmail or your email app

  1. Open the Gmail app (or your preferred email app), tap your profile picture, then Add another account.
  2. Choose Other (or IMAP) as the account type.
  3. Enter your full Titan email address and tap Next, then enter your password.
  4. When asked for the server settings, enter the incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) details from your Titan welcome email.
  5. Give the account a name like “Work Email” and finish the setup.
  6. Send a test email to confirm both sending and receiving work.

Troubleshooting the common failures

  • “Cannot verify account” or “authentication failed”: the usual cause is a typo in the password or using just the first part of the email address as the username. The username is almost always your FULL email address. Retype both carefully.
  • Can receive but cannot send: the outgoing (SMTP) server settings are wrong or incomplete. Double check the SMTP host name, and make sure authentication is turned on for outgoing mail with the same username and password.
  • Asks about SSL: say yes. Encrypted connections are the default and the correct choice.
  • Old emails missing on the phone: normal. IMAP syncs from setup onward on a new device, plus recent history depending on the app’s sync window setting. Everything is still safe in webmail.

Sync settings worth changing

After setup, check two settings in your email app. First, the sync window: how many days or weeks of email the phone keeps. A month is plenty for most people and keeps the app fast. Second, notifications: decide whether every new email should buzz your pocket, or only email in specific folders. Business owners who leave all notifications on burn out on noise. Set the phone to alert you for the important mailbox and let the rest wait until you open the app.

Still stuck? Open a support ticket and tell us your phone type, the app you are using, and the exact error message. A screenshot of the error helps enormously.
