What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant that you host yourself. It connects to the messaging apps you already use, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, and Signal, through one gateway, and it works from there: answering questions, carrying out jobs you give it, using its growing set of skills, and following up on schedule. It is open-source software, published under the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) licence, so anyone can inspect how it works.

OpenClaw does not include the AI itself. You bring your own model, either an AI model account or an Application Programming Interface (API) key from a model provider, and OpenClaw puts it to work. Because it runs on your server, your conversations and files stay on your machine, under your accounts, rather than on a platform shared with strangers.

OpenClaw sizes start at Grow. An always-on agent with several chat apps connected needs 4 gigabytes (GB) of memory to run reliably, so our smallest plan is not offered for this app. You can move up later without rebuilding anything.

What is the smallest server OpenClaw can run on?

Grow is the smallest plan we offer for OpenClaw: 2 virtual central processing units (vCPU) and 4 GB of memory. That is the functional minimum for an always-on agent once you connect several chat apps and scheduled jobs, and it leaves your assistant room to breathe. Start, with 1 GB of memory, is below that floor, so we do not sell it for this app rather than sell you a server that would struggle. If your agent gets busier, Pro and Max add memory and processing power, and you can move up without rebuilding.

What do I need to bring myself?

Your accounts and your AI model. OpenClaw connects to the chat apps you already use, such as WhatsApp and Telegram, under your own accounts. For the AI itself, bring a model account or an API key from a model provider of your choice. OpenClaw is open-source software and the server price does not include model usage, so any charges from a model provider are billed by them, under your account.

Who installs and sets up OpenClaw?

We do. Your server is created with the OpenClaw image, and our team completes the installation, secures the server, and checks OpenClaw with you before handover. You then connect your chat apps and your model account or key, which only you should ever enter.

How do updates work?

OpenClaw is your software on your server. On a self-managed plan, you or your developer apply OpenClaw updates when you choose, and you have full root access to do it. On the Managed option, we handle operating-system updates and security patching and keep an eye on the server; major OpenClaw version upgrades are planned with you first, because an agent's behaviour can change between versions and surprises are unwelcome in something that speaks for you.

What support do I get?

InterProWebHost support covers your server: keeping it running, reachable, and backed up weekly. The Managed option adds monitoring with response and priority ticket handling. Questions about how OpenClaw itself behaves, its skills, and its community are best answered by the OpenClaw project and its documentation, although if something looks like a server problem, write to us first and we will tell you honestly which side it sits on.

Will my price go up when it renews?

No. Every plan renews at the same price you start at. Annual billing is pay for 10 months and get 12, and that same basis applies at renewal.

Are backups included?

Yes. Every plan includes weekly snapshot backups at no extra charge. A Daily Backup Pack with daily snapshots and 14-day retention is available for $7.99 per month.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes, on annual plans. First-time customers can cancel an annual plan within 30 days of purchase for a refund of the hosting plan price. Monthly plans are not covered by the guarantee, and paid extras, licenses, and one-time work are excluded. The full terms are in our Refund Policy.
